I assume that's what you're talking about. But I guess I'll have to slog through it like everyone else who doesn't have $1,000+ to shell out.Īs for the poly count, I've learned to use Blender's Clean Up feature, which works well, and I was able to reduce the poly count on my current model down to 5% of the original Sculptris obj file without losing much detail, so that's progress. Literally the most aggravating software experience I've ever had (and that's saying something). I was kind of hoping to avoid Blender as much as possible, as every youtube Blender tutorial I try to follow turns into a nightmare, because the tutor's interface always looks different from mine, and I end up spending forever looking through menus, and even then sometimes can never find the option or button they are referring to. After spending the day trying different things, I think I can get what I want by just importing the Sculptris model into Blender, and then do the texture painting there. It is absolutely stellar for 2D animation.Hey kburkhart84, I really appreciate your feedback. In conclusion, Anime Studio is not a 3D tool and is not intended to be one. My YouTube channel has example(s) of 3D stuff, some done with Poser and AS. The YouTube video shown was done in Anime Studio with object/material files. you do not necessarily need the materials embedded ('baked') within the object file. objĪn object file can also have a companion file which lists materials. You have to be aware that the features promoted in any application is not going to magically make stuff happen without the effort to train and learn it.ĪS can import object files. You can buy any program you want, but there is no way to avoid the effort and the training required to get the results you want. There are college courses costing thousands that teach this. People spend years to learn how to rig in 3D. ![]() You can pay for high end tools to help in the process but at the end of the day you still have to learn how to do it and spend hours getting it right. Compared to 2D, 3D character rigging is incredibly tedious and complex to do it right. One of the reasons I sort of switched mainly to 2D is that the time to rig characters is considerably less. I've also tried rigging 3D models in Poser, and once again, it can be done, the process makes sense, but it's not easy to do. If you want 3D character integration with Anime Studio, buy Poser, rig your models in that program and then animate in Anime Studio. Poser files can then be loaded into Anime Studio and animated there as well. It has the ability to load, rig and animate obj files modeled in other programs. ![]() If you really want to use Anime Studio with 3D rigged characters you should purchase Poser. Rigging 3D models is not easy in ANY application. Even so, it still can take many many hours of work to do the job right. By comparison rigging a 3D character in Animation Master was the easiest by far. Lightwave costs like 3 times what Anime Studio costs.įor many years I used Animation Master. I use Lightwave for 3D and it's a real chore rigging characters I can tell you! It's hard man hard. Have you actually tried rigging 3D characters in ANY high end 3D app? Even the best of the best at the highest price have steep learning curves and take a ton of effort to rig 3D models. Have you complained to the developers of the other actual 3D programs you use? It seems to me that 3D applications not able to do what you need with 3D models deserves more criticism than a 2D application with only limited 3D obj file support.

Shortly afterwards he is said to have gone to Japan in a self-imposed exile, where he died not long after he completed the manuscript of his work. Russian researchers requested the discs for studying, and allegedly several were shipped to Moscow. ![]() Once there, it is said that they were scraped for loose particles and put through a chemical analysis which revealed that they contained large amounts of cobalt and other metallic substances. As recorded in the Soviet magazine Sputnik, Dr. Vyacheslav Zaitsev describes an experiment where the discs were supposedly placed on a special turntable whereby they were shown to 'vibrate' or 'hum' in an unusual rhythm as though an electric charge was passing through them. Supposedly, Ernst Wegerer (Wegener) was an Austrian engineer who, in 1974, visited the Banpo Museum in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, where he saw two of the Dropa stones. It is said that when he inquired about the discs the manager could tell him nothing, but permitted him to take one in his hand and photograph them up close. He claims that in his photos the hieroglyphs cannot be seen as they have been hidden by the flash from the camera and have also deteriorated. By 1994, the discs and the manager had disappeared from the museum. Publications Ī reference to the Dropa and Dropa stones is found in the July 1962 edition of the German vegetarian magazine Das vegetarische Universum. They are mentioned in the 1978 book Sungods in Exile by David Agamon (real name David A. This book is written as if it were a documentary of a 1947 expedition with the scientist Karyl Robin-Evans. It follows his supposed travels into the secluded region of the Bayan Har mountain range where he finds dwarfish people called the Dropa. ![]() According to his book, the Dropa population consisted of a few hundred members all of which were approximately 4 feet (1.2 m) tall. Robin-Evans allegedly lived among the Dropa for half a year and during that time he learned their language and history, and also impregnated one of the Dropa women. He was told that they had crashed there long ago and that their ancestor had come from a planet in the Sirius constellation. Gamon later revealed in the British publication Fortean Times that his book was his "favorite hoax" and a satire. In Japan, they were mentioned in 1996 when a translated version of Hartwig Hausdorf and Peter Krassa's Satelliten der Götter ('Satellites of the Gods') was released.
